OR 8 is the first Hybrid Operating Room for Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A hybrid operating room is one which contains traditional OR equipment with the addition of complex imaging equipment used to aid in surgical procedures. Having both typical surgical equipment and imaging equipment allows for more complex procedures to be held as multi-disciplines of care are present in the room. Hybrid OR 8 also includes the first Ultrasuite System installed at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. This system combines lighting, cooling and ventilation, and a finished clean ceiling for the room. Other features of this room include ceiling rail mounted Philips imaging equipment, multiple Stryker equipment and med-gas booms, a shielded control room for imaging technicians, and a separate equipment room to house the imaging cabinets and drivers.
